The Guardian: "London air pollution at record high"

Link to The Guardian

"Air pollution in London hit record levels on Thursday due to a combination of traffic fumes, relatively still weather and an influx of dirty air from the north of England and northern France. Poor conditions are affecting a swath of the country as far north as Leeds and York

"... Last month, the environment secretary, Caroline Spelman, was criticised by an influential group of MPs for rejecting their recommendations to cut pollution on the grounds that it was too costly. Poor air quality has been linked to nearly one in five deaths a year in London. The capital's poor air quality, caused largely by traffic, has seen the UK facing £300m in fines for breaching EU targets. The government has successfully lobbied Europe to push back the deadline for meeting the targets."

  1. its confusing
because this is meant to be a christian country and yet here we are not only leading each other to virtual ruin by means of cigarettes, but we are also ruining the earth...yes we are ruining our home...but don't lose heart...because the creator even though we dishonor him by teaching each other that the home he created that we are currently ruining came into existence by accident or so called big bang, the creator assures those of us that are wise enough to have faith in him rather than faith in the people ruining our home, that he will bring to ruin those that are ruining the planet.
but in the meantime I have certainly noticed how badly polluted the air is.
but I think it is to be expected, because I reason that if the people that are leading us to ruin i.e. politicians...will give their consent for tobacco makers to lead the public to ruin just for the sake of profit, then we cannnot expect those wicked hypocrites to then take care of our planet...if they have shown themselves irresponsible with regard to tobacco, then we ought to expect they will also ruin the planet and they are doing just that...but thankfully the creator of earth assures us that he will never allow man to ruin the earth, instead the ones causing ruin will end up ruined.

  2. what a joke...the only thing is I'm not really laughing...but when I read the following...caroline spelman was critisized for rejecting their recommendations to cut pollution on the grounds that it was too costly, I just have to roll my eyes and shake my head because that is just what mp's are known for.
yes because they keep their eyes on profit, they lose sight of the more important things like taking care of the planet and inspiring the inhabitants to take care of themselves.
mp's really make me want to vomit...yes they truly make me sick to my stomach...I cannot stand them...
