WLWP Plan Approval in (Brent), Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, (Hounslow) and Richmond upon Thames

 BRENT

The West London Joint Waste DPD is mentioned here, and is "expected" to go to Cabinet in December 2010.

 EALING
"In Ealing, there are two existing sites that are considered suitable for intensification (for treatment facilities) or re-orientation (for transfer facilities).  These are Greenford Depot (including the existing Reuse & Recycling Centre), and the Quattro site (Victoria Road).

"In the case of Greenford Depot, there are already a range of waste uses accommodated on the site including the Council's Reuse and Recycling Centre indicated as site 309 in the draft plan, and measuring approximately 1.15ha.   It is intended that the waste plan will continue to safeguard these uses, although will seek to maximise the processing capacity of the facilities on the site too.  With regard to the wider depot site (approximately 5.8ha), there may be potential to accommodate additional or expanded facilities although any new facilities may need to be accommodating alongside a range of other Council buildings/ depot uses presently functioning from this site.  Accordingly, only a proportion of the wider depot site (mapped as site 310 - approximately 0.9ha) has been identified as a potential waste site.  It should be noted too, that the boundaries of the mapped site are indicative of the potential area only and a different configuration may in fact work better.

"Five other sites/areas are also identified as potential locations for accommodating waste treatment facilities.  All five sites are located within the Park Royal area.  It should be noted that in the case of these larger areas it is not expected that all of these sites will necessarily be deliverable for waste management.  Further refinement will therefore be necessary following the consultation."

 HARROW

"Public consultation on the West London Waste Plan – Proposed Sites and Policies document will commence in mid-January 2011 for a period of six weeks"
"The Council Depot was the only Harrow site to proceed to the next stage. If agreed as a waste management site, the civic amenity site at the Council Depot would continue to operate."

and with reference to the 9 Nov. Local Development Framework Panel.

 HILLINGDON
"In Hillingdon, there are two existing sites that may be considered to be suitable for intensification (for treatment facilities) or re-orientation (for transfer facilities). These are Rigby Lane Waste Transfer Station in Hayes and the Victoria Road Waste Transfer Station at Civic Way in Ruislip.

"There are also three sites that are identified as potential locations that may be suitable for new waste treatment facilities, namely the Silverdale Road Industrial Area, located to the east of Hayes Town Centre, the former Powergen site at Bulls Bridge, Hayes and the Tavistock Road depot site at West Drayton."

 HOUNSLOW

This will be considered by the Executive on 7 December.

 RICHMOND upon THAMES

"In Richmond upon Thames, there are two existing sites that are considered to be suitable for intensification (for treatment facilities) or re-orientation (for transfer facilities); these are Twickenham Depot, Langhorn Drive, Twickenham and the Townmead Road Reuse and Recycling site, off Mortlake Road, Kew.
"There are not any [no?] other sites that are identified as potential locations suitable for new waste treatment facilities."

Cabinet agreed, 8 November (item 110) here
